Decent local fish and chips. Came at 7pm which was an hour before closing so I guess that's why the fish and the chicken felt a bit dry and soggy as it wasn't just out of the fryer but has been cooked a while ago. Overall service is good and fast, staff reasonably friendly too. Maybe best to come during peak times so food is hot and fresh
Simple, no frills fish and chips at an extremely affordable price. Highly recommend the cod (which locals apparently prefer over the halibut?) and the generous portion of fries was much appreciated. Mushy peas were interesting and the extensive menu should have something for everyone. HP sauce, ketchup, malt vinegar and tartar sauce were provided as well.
Absolutely fantastic chippy in every way. Tasty food, reasonable prices, friendly service and and eat in option available for those who want a sit and natter. What more do you want? They even do chips and gravy!
Quite a simple restaurant and experience which I am generally fine with. Good enough to get my money once, but our party agreed no where near good enough to return. Pros:- Location - Not overly busy during peak- Quite cheap- Fast foodCons:- Service and lack of politeness from some staff.- Hours of operation- Quality of fish, amount of grease, preparation. Soggy chips.
Absolutely wonderful! If you're looking for a perfect example of what fish & chips should be, there's a reason this place is so highly rated and recommended. Also, their other offerings are great; I'm an American and fan of diners, and the cheeseburger I had was great. Waitstaff is also great. Be warned this place is often very busy, especially Fridays, but don't let the potential crowd put you off.
