If you're sick of "Pharisee christianity," attending churches that are beautifully whitewashed on the outside, but full of dead mens' bones on the inside, then go here. Any Christian traveling through London should check to see if they're free to visit during any service or activity this church has.The building is old, but the people are genuine in their faith. Make a point to stay after, fellowship, and especially attend prayer sessions. To the spiritually mature, I believe you will sense the Holy Spirit within this congregation.If you are seeking out God and need someone to teach you, this is probably one of your better chances of hearing the full Gospel instead of a horribly twisted version of it. They're not caught up in trying to be "cool" and "relevant," and they're not obsessed with money to pay for extravagant buildings and salaries that do absolutely nothing for reaching out into the community or spreading the Gospel.Like anywhere else, I'm sure you'll be able to find something or someone to criticize, but. I'm telling you there is more 'right' going on here than a lot of where you could end up.
Clearly a reformed Baptist church. Pity I did not get to hear the pastor preach. Nonetheless, the attempt to be faithful in sticking to the text of scripture is clear
There are no tricks, games or gimmicks at this church, only preaching from the word of God and reverent worship. Praying it wont be long before they find a new pastor.
They preach the true Gospel of Salvation is by Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross for anyone who repents of their sins and by believing place their trust in him for eternal life. The Word of God is read and plenty of bibles for everyone to study. There was a nice time after church for coffee and sandwiches and to be greeted by genuine people of God. Highly Recommend a visit here.
