No problems. Smooth crossing, on time, polite staff. Allow a bit of extra time if travelling long distance from port, can take up to 40mins to get vehicles off.
Simple, quick, uncluttered. They took an extra two quid out of me from nowhere for the admin which I don't recall being flagged up. That said, worth it to buy something online where the process doesn't make you crazy.Cheaper I think than direct from the provider.A good service which I've used before and will use again.
After booking our ferry, we were charged twice. They refunded us in USD so we lost money in the conversion fees (our accounts are Canadian). They refused to try and resolve this issue even though it was their fault. After booking we also received an email that had incorrect check in and check out information so we arrived at 2 hours too early to even be able to check in. When I informed them of this, they didnt take responsibility and blamed the ferry company saying they changed their time even though, after checking with numerous sources, their times have been the same for years.
I got a good price from Direct Ferries but it took 5 attempts to complete my online booking. Twice it timed out even though I was at the last stage and had been reasonably quick. Each time I had to start from the beginning. Then 3 times the message came up that I was offline although I clearly wasn't. Each I had to start again - pretty frustrating!
It was relatively easy and straightforward to book tickets with Direct Ferries. I appreciated the multiple choices given within a few days either way so that we had all of the date and price information immediately at our fingertips. We were in fact able to easily shift our holiday dates by a few days in order to get the best price which I wouldn't have known about otherwise. My one criticism was the cabin selection, which is somewhat confusing as to whether the stated price for fancier cabins would be in addition to or instead of the price with the cheapest cabin. I would have appreciated more clarity, and perhaps photos. There isn't much information given about the ship you're booking, but this is easy to find on google. I haven't yet taken the ferry itself but based on the booking experience, would be happy to use Direct Ferries again.
